The true irony of two buses from the same initial order being reunited in the future is truly a blessing and a joy! Both of these buses started their lives with the Golden Gate Transit System. These buses were part of a fleet of 41 units, numbered 1401-1441. These 40102-D50’s are powered by the Detroit Diesel Series 50 Engine with DDEC III electronic controls and mated to the ZF 5HP-590 5 speed electronic controlled automatic transmission. They were originally delivered from the Flxible factory with seating for 45 passengers and 2 wheelchairs. While at Golden Gate Transit, they had 4 seats removed in order to give passengers more leg room towards the rear of the buses. They now seat 41 passengers.
